Dave’s Hot Chicken is “coming soon” to Rock Hill, according to its website. It is planning to open at 2476 Cherry Rd. The space formerly belonged to Mediterranean spot Jasmine Grill.

The new location will be the third in the Greater Charlotte area, coming in the wake of a major deal announced in 2021 by the Los Angeles-based franchise chain. Dave’s Hot Chicken had inked a deal with franchise partners Nick and Nicole Smith and Jordan Washburn for 12 locations in the Charlotte market.

The first two Charlotte locations were at 8932 J.M. Keynes Dr. and 1300 The Plaza in Midwood. What Now Nashville also reported on an upcoming location in Greensboro at 1949 Battleground Ave., which has yet to open.

The team has been searching for endcaps and freestanding locations that are 2,000 to 2,500 square feet, with potential for drive-thrus as well, according to the initial release.

It is unclear at this time precisely when the Rock Hill location will open.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, which launched in 2017 in East Hollywood, has grown to more than 180 stores through rapid expansion in recent years. The chain’s menu centers around spicy fried chicken, offering chicken bites, tenders and sliders, as well as fries and loaded milkshakes.
