Cook Out appears to be taking over the 3,451-square-foot space currently home to a Wendy’s at 715 Charlottetowne Avenue, according to filed permits and reporting by the Charlotte Business Journal.

The fast-casual chain has several locations “coming soon” to the Greater Charlotte area, including one at 1025 Frank Bailey Drive, one at 5161 Z-Max Blvd in Harrisburg, one at 711 York Road in Kings Mountain and one in Hickory. As of now, the Charlottetown Avenue location is not listed and no opening timeline has been released.

Cook Out has been expanding across the South and in North Carolina, with multiple locations in the works in Winston-Salem and the Raleigh-Durham area, as well.

The company, based in Thomasville and helmed by CEO Jeremy Reaves, has more than 350 locations across the South, with a strong presence in its home state of North Carolina. It is known for its classic American fast-casual menu, featuring items like char-grilled burgers, milkshakes and hot dogs.

Construction is still to come on the Charlottetowne Avenue location. The spot is still in the early stages of development.
