Franchise owners Alex McCourt and Paresh Patel are set to bring a new business to the Triad area. They will open Del Taco in a 3,176-square-foot space at 1551 Union Cross Road in Kernersville later this summer, targeting an opening in August, according to the Triad Business Journal. The space formerly housed a Burger King.
This spot is the first in a three-unit deal the franchisees have inked with Del Taco. This will be the first Del Taco in the Triad area and the second in the state. There is currently one open in Durham.
McCourt and Patel are not new to franchising businesses in the area. They work with multiple brands, including Dunkin’.
Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson launched Del Taco in 1964 in California with a menu featuring 19¢ tacos, tostadas and fries, and 24¢ cheeseburgers. Since then, the brand has continued to cultivate a following with its mix of fast-casual Mexican fare mixed with American offerings. The menu features tacos, burgers, fries, burritos, shakes and chicken.
Del Taco has well over 500 restaurants, with a mixture of company-owned and franchise locations.
