Coquette, a French-inspired all-day buffet, is scheduled to open in uptown Charlotte in July. The new café and restaurant will offer customers a cozy French countryside café and cuisine experience.

Coquette will span 3,300 square feet at 400 S Tryon St., where a Bank of America branch was located. The French concept is the latest venture of the Mother Earth Group, a company that operates restaurants and provides catering services. The firm currently runs Mariposa in uptown, Something Classic Catering, and vegan restaurant Fern.

“It’s a buffet, not a cafe or a bistro, it’s a place where you can come and eat and drink anytime any day,” Jill Marcus, Coquette’s owner, and founder of the Mother Earth Group, told What Now Charlotte

“I went to school in France for a year while I was in college, and I fell in love with France and this [Coquette] is really just about a romance with France,” she added.

Coquette offers a mix between fine dining and casual dining with a diverse menu of coffee, French pastries, aperitifs, oysters, and charcuterie boards, among other food and beverage options.
