Frenchy’s Sip and Shop, a new natural wine and craft beer bottle shop and tasting room, is getting ready to open in South End at 200 W. Tremont St.
Owner Chris Sarette plans to open this new business in Summer 2024, offering more than 700 wine and beer selections, first reported by Jason Thomas. The new 3,000-square-foot space will have room for 90 people, who are encouraged to sit with friends and learn about the wine by tasting it before purchasing. Sarette says the wine shop will be very approachable, both in price and the shopping experience, where about 70% of the bottles we’ve selected on the list are under $30.
When the new wine shop opens later this year, customers can expect wine from six continents, all from small-batch producers. In addition to wine, Frenchy’s will offer several hundred craft beers from Charlotte breweries and around the world. On top of these delicious beverages, the shop will offer free weekly wine-tasting events, pre-packaged snacks, and grab-and-go charcuterie. The business will be open from noon to 9 or 10 pm on Sunday-Thursday and noon to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Frenchy’s Sip and Shop will sit next to QC Pourhouse in South End, an area with a handful of wine-centered businesses. While the business will have its own unique twist on the wine-tasting room concept, it will have to compete with several other similar companies, including The Coterie Concept wine bar, Petit Philippe, Vin Master, and Sixty Vines. Despite the competition, Frenchy’s will rely on its vast selection and weekly events to bring in customers.
