Groovers Listening Bar, which currently has one location open in Charleston, is slated to join the Charlotte market. It will go in beside cocktail bar Blue Door along South Mint Street in South End, according to reporting by Jason Thomas.
Owners Eric and Kate Gussin also own EDM nightclub Trio Charlotte and cocktail bar Blue Door, which opened last October.
Groovers Listening Bar is designed around the spirit of the ’90s. The concept offers crafted cocktails, live music and vinyl DJs.
“Experience the nostalgia, great tunes and a unique vibe that transports you back in time,” the Groovers Listening Bar Charleston website states. “Whether you’re seeking a laid-back evening of vinyl classics or an electrifying live music performance, Groovers is your go-to destination in Charleston for an unforgettable night.”
The music-themed cocktail list at the Charleston location features drinks like Slow Jam Spritz (vodka, blood orange, cinnamon syrup, orange blossom water and prosecco), I Knew You Were Treble (Hendricks, elderflower, cucumber, lemon and ginger beer) and Funk You Up (blended rums, charred pineapple, lemongrass syrup, coconut, lime and tiki bitters).
As of now, an opening timeline has not been released. It appears that the location is still in the early stages of development and construction is still to come.
What Now Charlotte reached out to ownership for more details but could not obtain a comment prior to the time of publication.
