Nashville hot chicken chain Hangry Joe’s has a couple spots joining the Triad market this year. A new spot just opened up in High Point under franchisee Brad Smith, and Smith has more on the way.
Smith shared with the Triad Business Journal that he has another location in the works. He has plans to open another Hangry Joe’s at Wendover Place shopping center in Greensboro within the next six months.
Sweet Frog founder Derek Cha founded Hangry Joe’s alongside Mike Kim in 2021. Since then, the Virginia-based franchise has expanded to nearly 100 locations, with more expansion in the pipeline. The fast-casual chain is known for its chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers and wings, as well as other menu offerings such as loaded fries and loaded mac ’n cheese. They also have a variety of spice levels for their seasonings, even reaching an angry hot level that requires a waiver.
“We’re crafting experiences that begin with a spark of heat and end with a satisfied smile. Born from a rich heritage of culinary excellence and a passion for bringing people together, Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken is a testament to a journey of flavor that transcends borders,” the Hangry Joe’s website states. “From the bustling streets of the East to the vibrant locales of the West Coast, touching hearts in Dubai and Korea, our journey is flavored with the zest of ambition and the warmth of community.”
Smith also has franchise locations in Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia and other areas of North Carolina, according to Hangry Joe’s franchise documents.
