A few North Carolina restaurateurs are preparing to open a new diner-style concept in High Point, located at 3802 Samet Dr.
This new yet-to-be-named eatery is the latest venture from Mike and John Tsambounieris, who operates Alex’s House, and Emmanuel Talarantas, who owns University Kitchen and Pizza Wing King. The group recently purchased the former Carter Brothers Barbecue Ribs & Catering site and is preparing to open a “diner-style” restaurant that will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, according to The High Point Enterprise. An exact opening date is unknown.
“We’re renovating the whole place, and it’s going to be really nice,” Mike Tsambounieris tells The High Point Enterprise. “It will be a little different from what we’re doing now. We’re going to combine the knowledge of the breakfast concept we have at Alex’s and the home-cooking approach we have from all our experience. It will have an extra room to accommodate about 50 people for private parties, weddings, and corporate meetings.”
The partners bought the 5,700-square-foot space off Eastchester Drive, along with an adjacent, undeveloped lot totaling about 2.3 acres, for $1 million late last month. Carter Brothers Barbecue Ribs & Catering had its final days in April 2020 and was one of the many restaurants forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This building was also used at one point as the home of The Journey Church.
