A new restaurant is heading to the former Bar One space in Uptown. Tavern on Church LLC has inked a lease for the 4,800-square-foot space at 222 South Church St., according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Bar One closed at Packard Place several months ago amid lease challenges.

Paul Manley is listed as the managing member for Tavern on Church LLC, according to business filings with the state of North Carolina. Manley is co-founder and president of local restaurant group High Tide Hospitality. The group is behind restaurants such as sustainably-sourced seafood destination Sea Level NC, The Waterman Fish Bar and counter-service burger spot Ace No. 3. The Waterman Fish Bar now has two locations and Ace No. 3 has four spots open.

Details for the forthcoming space and concept at Packard Place remain scarce. Attempts to connect with ownership for further information prior to publication were unsuccessful.
