Early Bird Night Owl (EBNO), the hospitality company behind boutique hotels The Durham and The Mayton, are planning a new venture in downtown Cary. Lloyd’s Full Service will be a neighborhood restaurant at 107 E. Chatham St., according to a release.

The spot will take over the historic filling station space that currently houses Gurkan’s Downtown Auto Repair shop. The name pays homage to the service station opened by K.M. Lloyd in 1951.

“We’re excited for Lloyd’s Full Service to add to the vibrancy of downtown Cary,” Craig Spitzer, founder and chief executive officer of EBNO, said in the release. “We love the fact that businesses on this corner have always prided themselves on their friendly service. We found archival documents that show the gas station before Mr. Lloyd opened his Amoco station touted itself as ‘the cheerful looking place on the corner.’ We aspire to honor that legacy with Lloyd’s Full Service.”

Construction to the 1,280-square-foot building will include a modern 2,300-square-foot addition and a 1,200-square-foot patio canopy. The completed restaurant will seat about 100 diners inside and up to 95 on its outdoor patio, which will feature a fire pit, a stage for live music and a retrofitted 1940s-style delivery van serving food and drinks.

Lloyd’s Full Service is slated to open by the end of 2025.
