The Pizza Peel & Tap Room Serves Its Final Slice This November
Located in Charlotte’s Cotswold neighborhood, The Pizza Peel & Tap Room is known for hand-crafted pizzas, a rotating tap of local beers, and a Southern-inspired menu. After years of serving the community, the restaurant announced it will close, though it didn’t share a reason for the decision.
The eatery shared the news in a social media post, stating that it will close its doors after service on Sunday.
“After 17 successful years of serving pizza, wings, and more to the families in the Cotswold neighborhood, The Pizza Peel & Tap Room will close its doors after service Sunday, November 16th. We have made empowering community connections, watched kids grow (hired some of these same kids), and made lasting relationships that will live on,” the post read.
The restaurant thanked its staff for their dedication and hard work. It also invited followers to visit their upcoming location set to open in December in Plaza Midwood.
“I want to personally thank everyone who has had a “Feel for the Peel” for their support over the years. You can come support many of our teammates at our new Improper Pig that will be opening in December at the corner of Central Ave and Thomas Street in the heart of Plaza Midwood. We are grateful for the opportunity to have served this community. Much Love!” the post concluded.
About The Pizza Peel & Tap Room

The Pizza Peel & Tap Room started in Cotswold before expanding across Charlotte. Founded in 2008 by the Bigham family, the restaurant has spent years serving delicious food and connecting with the community.
The brand has grown to include locations in Plaza Midwood and downtown Matthews. Its parent company, Stomp Chomp & Roll, has extended its passion for food to several other neighborhoods, including Dilworth, Ballantyne, Rea Farms, Myers Park, and downtown Fort Mill, SC.
This growth has been supported by sister restaurants The Flying Biscuit Café and The Improper Pig, both longtime local favorites.
As they close this chapter, the team’s spirit continues in Plaza Midwood and their sister restaurants, where they’ll keep serving the food and experiences Charlotte fans love.
