Philadelphia-based dessert chain Insomnia Cookies appears to have a new location in the works in the Charlotte area. It has filed a permit for a location at 2130 Ayrsley Town Blvd.

Seth Berkowitz launched the cookie brand in Pennsylvania in 2003. Known for its late night hours, the brand hit its 350th location across the U.S., Canada, and the UK this past November. The brand opened 55 new bakeries in 2025 and is aiming to open 75 bakeries this year, according to a previous release.

Currently, Insomnia Cookies has four locations throughout Charlotte, including spots in Downtown, Plaza Midwood and University of North Carolina at Charlotte. There are 15 locations listed as open throughout North Carolina.

Insomnia Cookies offers a variety of cookies such as red velvet chunk, double chocolate chunk, snickerdoodle, confetti deluxe and s’mores deluxe. The menu also features brownies, ice cream, ice cream-and-cookie sandwiches and cookie cakes.
