Jim ’N Nicks Community Bar-B-Q is preparing to expand in North Carolina.

It has plans to join the forthcoming Palladium South development in High Point, taking a 4,800-square-foot space at 5523 West Wendover Ave., according to the Triad Business Journal.

The brand, which launched in Birmingham, Ala., in 1985, currently has three locations in the state in Charlotte, Concord and Hickory. Overall, the brand has 59 locations spread across Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.

Jim ’N Nicks is known for barbecue dishes like classic pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, Carolina-style pork, beef brisket and BBQ chicken, as well as other Southern favorites like fried catfish and loaded mac and cheese.

Palladium South is slated to bring a 36-acre development to the intersection of Wendover Avenue and Penny Road. It will feature retail and restaurant spaces as well as more than 200 apartment units, according to earlier plans.

The spot is in the planning phase and construction on the development is still ongoing. As of now, a potential opening timeline remains unknown.
