Leah & Louise, a modern juke joint that has gained national recognition in Camp North End, is getting ready to move to the Historic West End.
BayHaven Restaurant Group, led by James Beard-nominated Chef Greg Collier and business partner/wife Subrina Collier, announced they are moving to a larger space, first reported by Q City Metro. While the exact location has yet to be revealed, the lease is being finalized in the coming weeks, and the restaurant is expected to open later this year. Leah & Louise will continue to thrive at Camp North End until April 21 with a special ticketed dinner.
“It’s not just about taking our restaurant to the West End, but we’re taking one of the city’s top restaurants to the West End,” Greg Collier tells QCity Metro. “It’s not just about us. [Leah & Louise has] been mentioned on national restaurant lists, so it’s about what that means…what bringing that kind of restaurant to the West End means for the West Side.”
The Colliers opened Leah & Louise at Camp North End in March 2020. It has since earned Greg Collier multiple James Beard Award nominations and was named one of Esquire Magazine’s best new restaurants in America that same year. When the restaurant group relocates to its larger space, customers can expect much of its original essence to carry over, including its signature playlist. Some changes will include menu adjustments and plans to eventually expand its to-go options and live music.
“We’ve poured our hearts into Leah & Louise at Camp North End, but now the time has come to take a big leap into a larger space in the Historic West End!” the company recently said on Facebook. “Our journey thus far has been a testament to the strength and support of our community. Despite opening at the start of the pandemic, we’ve been embraced with open arms and reached some incredible milestones. We’re thankful for our time at Camp, and we’re excited for what’s next. More on that soon.”
