Lebowski’s Bar & Grill in Dilworth has officially temporarily closed its doors at 1524 East Boulevard to make a few changes with a new majority stakeholder.
Reid’s Fine Foods recently announced at the beginning of the month that they will be working with Lebowski’s to revamp the space and reopen at the end of this month, according to Charlotte Business Journal. The 2,000-square restaurant is known for its Buffalo-style chicken wings, but the new partnership plans to update the menu as well as make some aesthetic changes to the interior. When the restaurant reopens later this month, it will be open seven days a week.
“We’re just trying to upgrade the menu, the food and clean it up a little bit, improve the decor, and make it a more family-friendly neighborhood grill,” Tom Coker, CEO of Reid’s, tells the business journal. “We’re looking at diversifying our restaurant holdings, and this is really right in line with those efforts. We just think it is a great opportunity.”
The addition of Reid’s Fine Food team includes partnering with previous management, including Paul and Merideth Bell, who purchased the assets tied to Lebowski’s Bar & Grill in July 2019. While some new and old faces will join the efforts to revamp the restaurant, some favorites on the menu will remain. Customers may notice some new items on the menu, including additional appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. What’s more exciting about this is the idea of adding more locations of Lebowski’s in other areas, with Coker telling the Business Journal, “It’s certainly not out of the question.”
“We are excited to work with the Lebowski’s team,” according to a recent post from Reid’s Fine Food’s Instagram. “The goal is to reestablish Lebowski’s as a staple in the Charlotte community, and we plan on doing this by offering excellent service, food, and drink. We will continue to offer Lebowski’s signature menu items while adding our own twist. We will build upon the strengths of Lebowski’s and create an atmosphere we all expect from our favorite neighborhood spot.”
