A brand new natural wine bar called Little Pep is getting ready to open its first brick-and-mortar in Winston-Salem, located at 533 N. Trade Street.
Owners Rebekah Rhoden and Anna Impson started the company as a pop-up earlier this year. They have since maintained an online presence while working towards their ultimate goal: a new storefront. Impson tells What Now Charlotte that while they don’t have yet to set an exact opening date, they expect to open the new wine bar in early 2024. The new wine bar will move into the former home of King Classic Bakery, next to Umoja African Craft.
Customers can expect a variety of low-intervention wine, which is made by a simple, traditional method with few or no additives. On top of several natural wines, Little Pep will also serve a handful of non-alcoholic options and a limited beer selection, according to the Triad Business Journal. For food, Little Pep will serve small plates and snacks. The new wine bar will also have a small retail section at the front of the store selling the company’s merchandise, packaged snacks, candles, olive oils, jams, wine by the bottle, and other grocery items. The owners should have no problem getting customers in the doors by offering a new, intimate experience to downtown Winston-Salem.
“As a web developer and a graphic designer by trade, our careers creating for others have ~ unsurprisingly ~ led us to want to create a little something for ourselves,” according to the company’s website. “We realized we’re happiest when hosting friends in our home, enjoying good food in a new city, or drinking a glass of wine in a cozy bar. And then we thought that maybe, we could turn those feelings into a place — and share that place with you.”
