Oshen, a new sushi concept from local restaurant group Garcia Hospitality Group, is coming to Colony Place shopping center. The restaurant will go in at 7741 Colony Road.

Cinthya and Randy Garcia, who also co-own local Peruvian concepts Yunta and Viva Chicken, plan to open Oshen this fall.

The menu is planned to feature sushi, hibachi and non-seafood options, according to Axios Charlotte. The owners tapped chef Seiya Noborikawa, whose experience includes Nobu in Miami, to lead the kitchen.

Japanese cuisine is not new to the Garcias’ portfolio. Their Peruvian Nikkei spot Yunta features Japanese-influenced dishes that mix Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. In addition to classic Peruvian dishes like ceviche, the Yunta menu also features nigiri and Japanese sushi rolls.

The new Oshen concept is expected to have an upscale atmosphere but is intended to be family-friendly and affordable.

What Now Charlotte reached out to the owners for more information on the new concept and timeline but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on the new location.
