The Mezcalito team will be opening Aaktun Coffee + Bar at 704 E. Ramseur St. in Durham.
The spot will be a coffee shop by day and a tiki bar-restaurant by night, according to a recent Instagram announcement.
As of now, no details on menu items have been released.
The spot is expected to open this fall, though an exact opening timeline is still unknown. The Instagram page lists the spot as “coming soon,” with promises for further announcements about an opening date to come in the next few weeks.
Mezcalito has six locations throughout the state, including restaurants in Durham, Clayton, Beaufort, Goldsboro, Henderson and Apex. These locations serve Mexican dishes like fajitas, enchiladas, carnitas and tacos. They also serve full beverage programs, featuring margaritas, mojitos, cocktails, wine and beer.
