Yemeni coffee shop Bayt Almocha is expected to join the Centro NoDa development this fall at 715 E 36th St. alongside other tenants, according to a recent post on Centro NoDa’s Instagram page.

Bayt Almocha currently has four locations open, including one in Dearborn, Michigan, and three in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to entering the Charlotte market, the brand has locations heading to Ann Arbor, Michigan; Virginia; Rochester, New York; and Marietta, Georgia.

The coffee shop’s name and concept is a nod to the mocha’s roots in Yemeni culture. Mocha is a port city in Yemen and was known for centuries for its coffee trade.

“We invite you to explore the world of coffee through our lens, savoring the nuances of each origin, and indulging in the artistry that goes into every cup,” the Bayt Almocha website states. “Whether you seek the perfect beans for your business or the ideal coffee shop to linger in, Bayt Almocha is your trusted partner in the world of coffee.”

Menu items include mocha lattes, mocha frappes, pistachio lattes, white mocha frappes, the spiced Bayt frappe, Adeni chai and smoothies. Yemeni pastries such as sabayah, as well as cheesecake, tiramisu and milk cake are also on the menu.

What Now Charlotte reached out to a spokesperson about the expansion but could not obtain a comment prior to publication.
