Charlotte’s beloved Midnight Diner, known for serving great “everyday” food at affordable prices, is preparing to open a new location at 6538 N. Tryon St.

The company’s second location is set to move into the former home of Old Hickory House Barbeque, which closed in 2015 during the Blue Line construction, according to Axios. Owner Brian Dominick tells the publication that he’s targeting a fourth-quarter opening. The expansion comes just a few months after the original Midnight Diner was moved overnight via flatbed from East Carson Street to East Trade Street in Uptown.

When the new Midnight Diner opens at the end of the year, customers can expect various food and drink options, all at an affordable price. The menu consists of two full pages of breakfast and lunch specials, ranging from butter biscuit sandwiches to all-American signature burgers. The restaurant offers a New York Strip Steak for less than $20 and various seafood platters. To drink, Midnight Diners offers 100% freshly brewed Columbian coffee, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages. No matter what’s ordered, everything is made fresh and prepared with care.

“Our burgers are fresh, 100 percent Angus beef and sirloin mix, handcrafted to perfection,” according to the company’s website. “Onion rings are hand-cut and made fresh daily. We always serve our signature, made-by-order Shrimp & Grits and famous chicken and waffles. From our homemade meaty spaghetti to our thick-cut Challah bread French toast to our awarding winning, best-fried chicken you will ever have, to our to-die-for creamy grits, to the best Columbian coffee you will ever have, we’ve got your taste buds covered for breakfast, lunch, dinner or late night.”
