Mon Macaron, a Raleigh-based macaron bakery, is heading to the Charlotte area. It is one of the newest tenants announced for Birkdale Village in Huntersville, which is currently undergoing a revamp.
Other tenants on the way include Poppy Hand-Crafted Popcorn, Sweetgreen and the Suffolk Punch taproom.
Mon Macaron is one of the tenants being brought into the Tiny Retail District of the Birkdale Village as Airlie Baby moves into a larger storefront in the shopping center. The incoming brands will breathe new life into that segment of the Village, following the closures of Sugar + Ice Mini Donuts and Girl Tribe earlier this year.
Mon Macaron, which owner Autumn Hicks opened in 2021 in downtown Raleigh, now has three locations. Throughout the past couple years, she has expanded to both Cary and North Raleigh. The Huntersville location will be her first outside of the Triangle.
The macarons served at the bakery come in a variety of flavors, including classics and more creative options like lavender, pistachio and cherry chocolate truffle. Customers can buy single cookies, buy them by the dozen or order specialty creations like macaron towers.
As of now, the timeline for Mon Macaron’s opening is unclear.
What Now Charlotte has reached out to Hicks for more information regarding the timeline and the new location and is awaiting a response. Stay tuned for updates.
Hi Emily,
I’m writing to make you aware of the error in this article. Autumn Hicks is not the owner of the Charlotte/Huntersville area location at Birkdale Village. We are the owners, Shawn Harrison and Michael Butler. We are not affiliated with Autumn Hicks’ businesses in Raleigh or Cary, NC. If you could please update the article for accuracy that would be great. Also, we opened at Birkdale Village on 9/23/24. We encourage you to stop in and see us and try our amazing selection of macarons, espresso, and signature drinks!
Thanks,
Shawn Harrison/Michael Butler
