The owners of Napa on Providence and Napa at Kingsley are opening a new restaurant in Huntersville at 8908 Lindholm Drive.

The restaurant was recently announced as one of the first tenants for Birkdale Place, a $65 million mixed-use project on the south side of N.C. Highway 73, across from Birkdale Village, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. Napa Restaurant Group has secured about 6,000 square feet of space within the 15.6 acres of Birkdale Golf Club’s 185-acre footprint. Other recently announced tenants include a build-your-own salad, Chopt, and a corporate-owned Caribou Coffee.

Gustafson Partners, the team behind the development, also announced TD Bank will open a 2,500-square-foot branch there, and Salon Lofts has secured 4,530 square feet. The project’s first phase, which makes way for 25,000 rentable square feet of retail, is underway, with steel recently going up. The company hopes to turn that building over to tenants in Summer 2024. Roughly 8,500 square feet remain available for rent, including a 3,500-square-foot unit on the ground level. Trent Gustafson, president of Gustafson Partners, wants to see a light-impact fitness concept and med-spa tenants join the project. The new restaurant will offer Napa Valley-inspired cuisine and an all-California wine list

Phase two of the project is expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year, with more improvements planned. This phase includes adding a seven-floor Hilton Garden Inn with 140 rooms, about 7,000 square feet of meeting space, and space for a 6,500 square feet restaurant. Phase two also includes another 10,000 square feet of retail space. So far, Gustafson Partners reopened the golf course in November after renovating the clubhouse’s exterior and realigning the ninth hole.
