Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Charlotte’s oldest and largest craft brewery and beer garden, is opening a new location in Ballantyne at 15119 Bowl Street.

The company’s second location was one of the first tenants to be announced for the upcoming mixed-use development called The Bowl at Ballantyne, according to the Charlotte Observer. While the project was initially expected to open sometime this year, the project will be completed in 2024, with OMB opening early next year. Other tenants recently announced for the new development include Summit Coffee and First Watch, opening on the west side of the Ballantyne campus.

The new Olde Mecklenburg Brewery will feature 14,000 square feet of indoor space and 7,000 square feet of patio dining. The business will anchor the 6-acre park as a go-to destination for an alcoholic beverages. This will appeal to many of the residents, especially considering the project includes more than 700 additional apartment units that will be added to The Bowl, including two high-rise towers. Other amenities include the Ballantyne area’s new living room, kitchen, and concert hall.

This isn’t the only location in the works for Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. The company recently announced a new site coming to the airport in the first half of 2024, replacing the still-open Carolina Beer, according to Axios. The new Biergarten will be operated by HMSHost, which oversees most of the airport’s food and beverage options. The announcement comes after the company’s original location on 4150 Yancey Road recently launched a new menu that will inspire the airport location’s menu.
