The owners of Curry Gate have announced they are opening a new concept called Curry Junction in Uptown, located at 101 N. Tryon St.
The new concept will move into the upcoming Monarch Market, an 18,000-square-foot food hall at One Independence Center, according to Crescent Communities. Curry Gate is the first of three food stalls announced for the food hall this fall, as well as a second location of Barley and Burger and a new concept called Rolled AF, from the owners of Nacho Average food truck and 22 Street Kitchen food truck.
“We are thrilled to continue our expansion throughout Charlotte and bring Curry Junction to the Monarch Market community,” Chuda Dhimal, owner of Curry Gate, said in a statement. “We plan to bring our cravable Indian dishes to the heart of Uptown alongside a diverse lineup of like-minded culinary operators.”
While the exact details of the new concept have not been revealed, customers can expect delicious curry options like the original restaurant at 630 W 24th Street. Monarch Market will have a total of 12 food stalls, as well as a full-service restaurant, three bars, and four event spaces. The three announced restaurant proves the upcoming food hall will provide the surrounding area with a wide variety of different food options. More concepts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“This is the first of many exciting announcements on the horizon for Monarch Market,” Alex Hondros, Director of Office Acquisitions and Asset Management of Crescent Communities, said in a statement. “Curry Junction, Rolled AF, and Barley and Burger serve as a taste of the vibrant culinary and entertainment experience to come for Uptown Charlotte and our tenants of One Independence Center.”
