Panda Express, the largest American Chinese dining concept in the U.S., opened its new location in Mint Hill, NC on March 6th, 2026. The restaurant celebrated its grand opening with an official community celebration.

“Our entire Panda team is grateful to serve the Mint Hill community by providing new jobs and supporting local organizations through various fundraising opportunities,” said Jorge Sandoval, Panda Express Area Coach of Operations in a statement. “We hope to be a lasting part of the community and welcome all guests into our doors to try our American Chinese favorites and discover their own.”

The opening day was truly special—not only did Panda Express celebrate the grand opening, they had entertainment from the Rocky River High School Marching Band.

Festivities for the Mint Hill Panda Express grand opening celebration included an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with the local Chamber, a special big check donation of $1,000 to Helping Hands, and special gift for the first lucky 88 guests in line.
