The Garrison is planning its first expansion, according to a recent Instagram announcement. It will open its second location in Tega Cay at 15083 Molokai Drive, taking over The Shore Club space at the Tega Cay Golf Club.

This location will be the first expansion outside of Pineville for any of owner Kevin Devanney’s concepts, which include Margaux’s Wine, Pizza and Market in addition to The Garrison.

“We’ve thought about expansion for a while, but there’s never been a perfect opportunity for us. We’ve always wanted to be a big fish in a small pond versus moving closer into Charlotte,” owner Kevin Devanney told What Now Charlotte. “That’s not where we feel most comfortable. We like to move into smaller towns and be part of smaller communities.”

The space includes a restaurant, bar and a 6,500-square-foot conference center, which Devanney hopes to utilize heavily for private events. The spot in Tega Cay will offer an upfit on the design of the space in Pineville, bringing in some new style and design elements. The team also plans to expand the bar area at the space, taking over the pro shop in the building to add 2,500 square feet.

The spot serves appetizers such as toasted ravioli and nachos; salads; and entrees such as shrimp and grits, blackened salmon, dry aged pork chop, filet mignon, burgers, steak sandwiches and short ribs. There is also a list of signature cocktails.

The location in Tega Cay will offer both The Garrison’s traditional menu and the pizza from Margaux’s. The new spot will have a wood-burning pizza oven to add this element to the concept.

Devanney and the team are targeting an early 2026 opening. Eventually, they hope to expand to other areas.

“It’s the first time we’re making a move outside of Pineville, and now that we’ve done it, I think we’ll continue to target other small communities around the Charlotte area and North and South Carolina,” Devanney said. “We’ll start looking at other locations and see where future possibilities might take us.”
