A brand new fast-casual Indonesian restaurant called Prima Rasa will be making its debut in Raintree, located at 8200 Providence Road, Suite 700.
This will be the latest concept from the owners of Prime Fish and Omakase Experience by Prime Fish, led by chef Hendra Tjiey, according to the Charlotte Observer. The new restaurant will feature Indonesian cuisine with a Chinese flair, reflecting Tijey’s home country and heritage. Prima Rasa will move into the former home of Charlotte Cafe, between Sushiya Japan Ramen & Sushi Bar and Akropolis Cafe, in The Arboretum Shopping Center. There is no exact opening date, but the restaurant is expected to open before the end of the year.
Prime Fish opened in 2021 under executive chef Robin Anthony, a certified sake adviser specializing in traditional Edomae (Tokyo style) sushi, combining French and Southern influences. His phenomenal sushi ability led his restaurant to be named Charlotte’s Best New Restaurant and Best Sushi in Charlotte. The popularity led the accomplished chef to expand with the addition of Omakase Experience by Prime Fish, where guests get an up-close experience with traditional sushi.
His concepts feature the freshest ingredients prepared with great care and attention to detail. His new venture with Chef Tijey will be the first time the chef expands beyond sushi and seafood. Customers can expect affordable, filling dishes that include skewers, salads, stews, noodle and rice dishes, as well as vegetarian options. Staying true to Indian tradition, pork will not be served, but chicken, beef, and seafood will be available.
