Belmont is slated to receive a new pizza spot. The teams behind Primal Brewery and ASM Group, known for spots such as The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar and eeZ, will open Tapside Pizza within Primal Brewery at 52 Ervin St.
“It is a natural partnership because both our vision and values align. We both believe in producing the best food or beer, and using only high quality ingredients to get there,” ASM Group owner Alan Springate said in a release. “Both of us also want to just give our guests the best experience possible.”
Ray Steimel and David Hoy opened Primal Brewery in 2014 and they now operate locations in both Huntersville and Belmont.
“We’ve always believed that beer is the original social network,” Steimel said in the release. “Whether someone is ordering our Gold Medal-winning Corruption by Proxy or a refreshing Lawn Boy, our goal isn’t just to impress their palate — it’s to give them a reason to put down their phone and connect with the person sitting next to them. That’s what being ‘Primal’ is all about.”
The forthcoming Tapside Pizza will combine this beer with artisanal pizza, with options such as classics like margherita pizza and specialized pizzas such as a spinach pie with white sauce, mozzarella, feta, spinach, sundried tomato, caramelized shallots and pine nuts, or the Hot Hive with mozzarella, soppressata, pancetta, calabrian chilis and smoked honey. There will also be build-your-own pizza options.
Aside from pizzas, food offerings will include appetizers such as fries topped with melted cheese, Primal’s giant brewery pretzel, salads, housemade meatballs and sliders made with local Brasstown Beef, spinach and artichoke dip.
