Live Eat Surf, a Wilmington-based hospitality group, is bringing its concept K38 Baja Grill to the Triangle for the first time this year. K38 will open at 20 Seaboard Ave., Suite B110, at Seaboard Station by December, according to reporting by the Triangle Business Journal.
This location will be the sixth for the K38 brand, joining existing locations in Oleander, Porters Neck, Carolina Beach and Independence.
Josh Vach launched the brand in 1993 along Oleander Drive in Wilmington. West Coast surf trips inspired the K38 concept, influencing the laid-back atmosphere and fresh ingredients utilized in the menu.
The restaurant serves signature items like Mexican street corn, chile relleno, tostadas and a cheesesteak crisp on flour tortillas. The menu also includes classic offerings such as tacos, burritos, fajitas, bowls, quesadillas, enchiladas and salads.
The brand is currently hiring for the Seaboard Station location, according to the K38 website.
Live Eat Surf, helmed by president Brian Brennan, also operates coastal casual brand Tower 7, which has two locations. Live Eat Surf, founded by Vach, draws inspiration from his love of surfing along the West Coast and his experiences with flavors at restaurants and taco shacks.
“Josh’s passion and dedication laid the foundation for a group of restaurants loved by locals and visitors alike,” the Live Eat Surf website states. “We celebrate his legacy through the restaurants, gathering people to kick back and relax around gorgeous food. Come see what the buzz is about at any of our six locations.”
Seaboard Station has been seeing other tenants joining its lineup, as well. Boatman Spirits Co. opened at Seaboard Station earlier this year, and Charlotte-based The Common Market will join Seaboard Station in the spring.
