After serving the Birkdale Village for the past twenty years, Dressler’s will close down and be replaced by Fin & Fino in Lake Norman at 8630 Lindholm Dr.

Rare Roots Hospitality, led by Jon and Kim Dressler, has announced the eventual closure of Dressler’s to make way for a second location of Fin & Fino, according to the restaurant’s Facebook. Rare Roots plans to close Dressler’s in mid-September for three months of renovations to create a space with a coastal-inspired design, an extended bar, dining room, and patio. Fin & Fino is expected to open in Winter 2024.

“Dressler’s is a very special restaurant to us, and we’re grateful to the community for the love and support since we opened the doors,” Jon Dressler tells Charlotte Observer. “Being our first restaurant, we did not take this decision lightly. The guests and team are our family, so this is by no means a goodbye to any of them.”

When the company’s second location of Fin & Fino opens, customers can expect delicious, fresh seafood, housemade pasta, and unique cocktails, much like the original that opened in Uptown five years ago. The “social seafood house” is part of a much larger development from Birkdale Village, which is seeing several stores expand, relocate, or remodel. This isn’t the only concept the group is closing to focus on a brighter future. Rare Roots also announced the group is closing Dogwood: A Southern Table & Bar this month so that restarateur David Burke can open The Fox & Falcon in its place.

“With all of the exciting changes coming to Birkdale Village, we feel it is time to bring in something new ourselves,” Dressler said. “The energy and charisma of Fin & Fino will fit in well and will be an integral player in the updates underway there.”
