Resident Culture Brewing Company, one of Charlotte’s most popular breweries, is getting ready to open a new location in Uptown at 224 W. 7th St.
The company’s third location will be coming to The Market at 7th Street, Uptown’s first food hall, later this summer, according to the Charlotte Observer. Resident Culture Brewing will move into the former space of Tank’s Tap space, featuring 12 beers on tap and retail coolers with cans to-go. While co-founders Chris Tropeano, Amanda McLamb, and Phillip McLamb, expect to land in this space later this summer, they plan to move the brewery to a larger space within The Market late next year with a patio.
“When the opportunity presented itself to be a staple in The Market at 7th Street, we decided to jump on it,” Philip said in a statement. “We believe in the revitalization and comeback of Uptown and want to do our part to help make it happen. We also believe in the mission of The Market at 7th Street and feel it aligns with Resident Culture’s core values.”
Resident Culture was founded in 2017 and has locations in Plaza Midwood and, most recently, South End. The latter opened last year, featuring a full-service coffee shop. Now, the company is ready to expand again, this time with the goal of adding an upbeat vibe to the market. The brewery will join several other businesses within the food hall, including Jimmy Pearls, which Resident Culture will collaborate with for beer-pairing dinners.
“At Resident Culture, we take our beer seriously, but most importantly, we value the relationships and family culture we have cultivated,” according to the company’s website. “We are proud to have an incredibly tight-knit crew, all of whom play an important role in making this place our home. At the end of the day, it’s beer that we make, but it’s our community and the taking care of each other that makes the foundation we’re built upon.”
