Royal Bliss Brewing Co., the Denver, NC-based brewery that opened in 2020, is looking to open a second location in Cornelius on a 2.9-acre parcel off Harbor View Drive.
While nothing is set in stone, co-owner Larry Griffin plans to submit a conditional rezoning application to the town of Cornelius next week, according to Charlotte Business Journal. If approved, he and his wife, Ginger Griffin, will open a new 11,400-square-foot brewery and restaurant. Griffin expects the rezoning to be a roughly 90-day process, but if everything goes well, he expects to open Royal Bliss’ second location in early 2025.
The Griffins launched the company in 2020 at the Shoppes at Waterside Crossing, with Chris Wertman serving as the brewmaster and Bobby Lamby as the executive chef. Royal Bliss’ original location at 7532 Royal Bliss Court offers a handful of its own beer and wine selections as well as a handful of limited releases. As for food, the brewery offers a handful of bowls, burgers, and handhelds. The company has created a refined yet approachable brewery that makes customers want to stay once they are there.
“Our vision has been to create a space that takes everything we love about breweries and pair it with our passion for impeccable service that shaped both of our careers,” according to the company’s website. “When you first walk into the space we hope you’ll sense an attention to detail that feels refined yet very approachable. Built on the philosophy that “In life & beer, balance is bliss,” Royal Bliss Brewing Co. uses these ideas to guide everything from our brand to our beer, from the food to the overall experience and everything in between.”
