A local ice cream brand that offers dairy-free, egg-free and gluten-free ice cream has two new locations in the pipeline. Seemingly Overzealous has announced plans for Davidson and Matthews. The locations will open at Sadler Square and 126 Matthews Station, according to Charlotte Business Journal.

The new location in Davidson is expected to open in May and the spot in Matthews will open in summer.

“To our customers that continue to show up and support us, thank you. You’ve given us the confidence to go big. Next year will be huge and we hope that all our new fun ideas exceed your expectations. We love serving you,” the Seemingly Overzealous team wrote in the announcement. “To the new customers we have yet to meet in these new areas, we can’t wait to serve you and your families. We have a deep desire to create experiences that go beyond just ice cream and can’t wait to welcome you into our little ice cream world.”

Couple Garrett Tichy and Jessica Berresse launched Seemingly Overzealous with a brick-and-mortar location at Camp North End in 2023. The ice cream offerings are all dairy-free, gluten-free and egg-free, making the brand friendly to customers with allergies.

Tichy and Berresse expanded to additional locations in Plaza Midwood and Dilworth over the past couple years. The current menu features flavors like Spontaneous Regeneration (strawberry), Can’t All Be Cookie (cookies & cream) and It’s Wordy, Go Nuts (hazelnut with Golden Oreos).
