SORA, a new restaurant set to open in fall 2024, promises to bring a unique culinary experience to Myers Park.

Located at 2907 Selwyn Ave, SORA will blend the precision and technique of Japanese cuisine with the delicate flavors and presentation of French culinary traditions.

In a recent Instagram post, sister eatery Baku Restaurant expressed excitement about the new venture: “Crafted from the finest ingredients, cultivated from passion, SORA will deliver a warm and intimate ambiance that is sure to leave a lasting impression. We are excited to embark on this new culinary journey with you!”

SORA is the brainchild of renowned restaurateur Birdie Yang, who, along with his business partner Janine Lu, has already made a significant mark on Charlotte’s dining scene with three Yama Asian Fusion locations and the aforementioned Baku. The duo is now set to introduce this innovative tasting menu concept just across the street from The Jimmy.

The restaurant will feature a fusion of French and Japanese dishes, complemented by a fine selection of wines, aiming to offer an unforgettable dining experience. Currently, SORA is in the permitting phase with the City of Charlotte.
