Sycamore Brewing plans to expand in the Charlotte area and beyond following the opening of its $4 million location in South End at 2151 Hawkins St.
The brewery’s new taproom will be 10,000 square feet over two levels, as well as 16,000 square feet for outdoor offerings, and a 7,500-square-foot rooftop beer garden, according to Charlotte Business Journal. Customers can expect all-day dining on the ground level and a new eatery called Sycamore Cafe on the first floor. While Sycamore’s new home opens on May 31, the company is already planning to open new locations in the Charlotte area and beyond, with feelers in the Wilmington and Charleston areas.
“We’re ready,” Sarah Brigham, who co-owns the business with her husband, Justin, tells Charlotte Business Journal. “It’s just about finding the right space.”
While the company is searching for the perfect locations for its next taproom, customers can enjoy the brewery’s offerings at The Line in South End. In the ground-level taproom, customers can expect plenty of shareable plates and light bites, such as charcuterie boards, hummus, and other dips and spreads, as well as entrees like burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and more. Sycamore Cafe will offer the brand’s coffee options, breakfast sandwiches, and baked goods from local bakers.
Since opening in 2014, Sycamore Brewing has become Charlotte’s largest craft brewery, producing 27,767 barrels in 2021. The company opened its taproom and beer garden at 2151 Hawkins St, but it had to temporarily close during the pandemic. Now Sycamore Brewing is ready to take over Charlotte again, this time with a new taproom that’s nearly twice the size of the original.
