After opening its first Charlotte location in SouthPark last year, The Cheesecake Factory is getting ready to open a second location in the area in Huntersville at 8701 Townley Rd.

The company’s new location will move into the former home of Gap in the Birkdale Village, expected to open in August 2023, according to Charlotte Business Journal. The company is currently working on hiring nearly 300 workers for the new location, which was first announced earlier this year. The Cheesecake Factory is one of many new eateries coming to the shopping center, including Suffolk Punch Brewing opening its third Charlotte-area taproom early next year, as well as Anthropologie, Evereve, Lilly Pulitzer, Monkee’s, and Southern Tide, opening later this year.

“We have greatly enjoyed being part of the greater Charlotte community since opening there in 2002, and we are excited to open a second restaurant in the area,” Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations, tells the Business Journal earlier this year.

The massive hiring the company is undergoing is no surprise, considering The Cheesecake Factory is known for its extensive menu with more than 250 dishes served fresh daily. On top of the delicious namesake cheesecake, available by the slice or whole, the restaurant will also offer appetizers, salads, flatbread pizzas, pasta, seafood, and steaks. The Cheesecake Factory operates more than 300 locations in the United States and Canada.
