Chapel Hill-based bar The Crunkleton aims to open their third location in Raleigh in December. The new spot will be in Raleigh’s Smoky Hollow district.

Initially, the new location was announced in 2022 with plans to open in fall of that year, according to The Crunkleton website. However, it has yet to open.

Since its opening in 2008, The Crunkleton has become an iconic bar along West Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. It features a rustic atmosphere and a wide variety of drinks and spirits, specializing in pre-Prohibition Era cocktails.

In 2018, The Crunkleton came to Charlotte, opening at 1957 E 7th Street. It features the same classic cocktails, spirits, wines, and beers, as well as a full open-hearth kitchen for dinner and weekend brunch.

The Raleigh location is expected to have features similar to the Charlotte location, including both the drinks menu and a full kitchen.

What Now Charlotte has reached out to The Crunkleton for more information on the new location but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this location’s upcoming opening.
