A celebrity chef has snatched up some prime real estate in SouthPark and will bring The Fox & Falcon concept to Charlotte at 4905 Ashley Park Ln.
Celebrity chef David Burke has announced he and his David Burke Hospitality Management has purchased the lease and assets of Dogwood Southern Table & Bar, which is set to close in mid-to-late August 2023, according to Charlotte Business Journal. Restaurateur Jon Dressler of Rare Roots Hospitality recently announced the sale of the 4,100-square-foot space, saying the sale was “spurred on by the natural life cycle of restaurants.” The restaurant group will focus on its upcoming restaurant, Chapter Six, coming to South End.
“Restaurants see a good run up in the first few years and then they kind of level off,” Dressler tells the Unpretentious Plate. “It’s incumbent upon the restaurant to keep it growing because your costs are going to continue going up, your rent is going to continue going up. And if your sales are not going up commensurately, that makes it a little bit more difficult.”
While the restaurant will remain open for a few more weeks, Burke and his team are preparing to expand The Fox & Falcon from New Jersey to Charlotte. When the new restaurant opens, likely by year-end, customers can expect David Burke’s elevated contemporary American menu that reflects a continual reinvention of classic and new American cuisine, as well as a carefully crafted cocktail menu.
“We consider it a privilege to carry on the legacy of this iconic venue, and we’re committed to bringing the same level of enthusiasm and excitement to this new venture as we do with every David Burke culinary experience,” David Hynes, president of David Burke Hospitality Management, tells Charlotte Business Journal. “We’re fortunate to have an experienced executive chef who really knows what the food lovers in Charlotte enjoy and is excited to showcase David Burke’s signature style of upscale American cuisine,”
