The Hideaway LKN, a full-service bar in Lake Norman’s Cornelius community, is getting ready to change owners and rebrand, set to become Dive Bar at 20910 Torrence Chapel Rd, D7.

The restaurant opened in late 2022, but the original owners are ready to start the next chapters of their lives and have sold the business to Robert Grosskopf and Gary and Kiera Preston, who have already opened the unique arcade bar in Mooresville and Hickory. The Hideaway will close on October 31, and the new owners will spend a week renovating the space, officially opening on November 7 as Dive Bar Cornelius.

“We have some bittersweet but exciting news to share! As of Monday, The Hideaway will be under new ownership and will soon become Dive Bar, a great arcade bar brand with locations currently in Mooresville and Hickory,” according to an announcement by The Hideaway LKN on Facebook. “We know that some of you may be wondering why we are selling the bar. The truth is, we are simply ready for a new chapter in our lives, and we are excited to see what the future holds for The Hideaway under an incredible new ownership and becomes….Dive Bar Cornelius!!!!”

When Dive Bar Cornelius opens early next month, customers can expect a variety of craft cocktails, an extensive wine list, and 16 rotating taps. There will be live music, sports viewing parties, and other entertainment options, such as open mic nights. To make things even more fun, the full-service bars offer billiards, darts, skee ball, and more. For food, expect plenty of bar food favorites, such as pizza, pretzel bites, and walking tacos. The company is also working on a new site in High Point, opening on December 27, according to Grosskopf.

“The Hideaway will remain The Hideaway until October 30, and then it will close until November 7 when it reopens as Dive Bar Cornelius,” the announcement continues. “We are confident that Dive Bar will continue to provide the Cornelius community with a great place to gather, play, and have fun. They have a great reputation for their arcade games, delicious food, and snarky take on nightlife. We want to thank you all for making The Hideaway such a special place for us. It has been our honor to serve you, and we are grateful for the new friends we have made and the memories that we have shared together. We hope to see you all at the grand reopening of Dive Bar on/around November 7!”
