Danielle Leonhardt and Christine Wyatt, the sisters behind health-food brand The Juice Pod, are bringing their brand to Charlotte. They have signed a lease to join The Line in South End, marking their first location in the market.

“Charlotte is an up-and-coming area. We visited and we really loved it. When we went to The Line, we saw the walking trail and so many people out, and we just felt that with the surrounding stores and all the foot traffic, it was an amazing space,” Wyatt told What Now Charlotte. “Just to have it in that open area with the big garage doors open, we thought it would be great. So we’re looking forward to serving the community there.”

Customers can expect an interior that reflects a clean, fresh, boho-style aesthetic. The menu features acai bowls, chia pudding bowls, coconut bowls, green and grain bowls, oatmeal bowls, paninis, salads, smoothies, toasts, wraps and cold-pressed juices. The idea behind the brand is to bring clean, fresh ingredients to customers with made-to-order meals.

The brand launched in 2016 when Leonhardt opened the first Juice Pod location in Avalon, New Jersey.

“She set out with one mission: to handcraft raw juices, superfood smoothies and the highest quality, locally sourced and organic food options to give optimal nutrition,” the Juice Pod website states.

Wyatt joined the company in 2019 to aid with expansion. The Juice Pod now has 18 locations across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida.

Eventually, Wyatt said they hope to expand in the Charlotte market.

“We’re trying to become more familiar with all the different areas right now,” Wyatt said.

The opening timeline for The Line location is dependent on construction, so information is still to come on a potential opening date.

Moving forward, they hope to continue to spread across the country as a franchise.

“We just hope to be able to share our brand,” Wyatt said. “It’s happening organically through previous employees having their own Juice Pods and customers really liking our brand and wanting to expand on their own.”
