A new all-you-can-eat restaurant is slated to join The Centrum shopping center by the end of the year. The OG Asian Eatery will take over the 4,000-square foot space formerly home to Yiding Hot Pot, Sushi + More at 10610 Centrum Parkway in Pineville.

The expansive menu will feature hotpot options, a 50-piece sushi menu and Chinese barbecue options. There will also be Asian beer, sake and soju.

“We wanted to build variety and bring something fresh to the market in terms of what’s on the sushi menu,” managing partner Anna Wang told What Now Charlotte.

Wang said that the spot is designed to bring a fresh hangout spot to the community, in addition to plenty of culinary options.

“It’s the original spot where everyone wants to come and hang out,” Wang said. “The OG is about more than just food — it’s about building connections and relationships.”

The OG will offer elements popular with customers, such as a robot that helps deliver food to tables and participates in celebrations such as birthdays. In addition, the team is renovating the karaoke rooms from Yiding Hot Pot, Sushi + More to create a more immersive experience for guests.

“With those rooms, we want to bring a more upscale feeling where when people enter, it brings them into another environment completely,” Wang said.

Wang and her team are hoping to open by December. Eventually, she envisions expansion for The OG Asian Eatery within the next three to five years, perhaps through food trucks that can expand their reach in the Charlotte community.

“We really want to educate [with] culture in the community,” Wang said. “We are in Pineville, so it’s a little smaller than Charlotte but there’s a lot of culture in this area. There are a lot of all-you-can-eat [spots], but it is usually where customers come in and just eat. We want to bring in a full-on service where customers really feel taken care of. The OG should be more than just all-you-can-eat — it will be a family environment where people can gather and celebrate.”
