Local restaurateurs Cheetie Kumar, Paul Siler, Angela Salamanca, Marshall Davis and Justin Pasfield have inked a deal for a 3,500-square-foot space at 1000 Brookside Drive, according to the Triangle Business Journal.
As of now, details about the planned project remain murky. A name for the new restaurant has not been announced yet, but it has been revealed that the project is expected to have multiple concepts involved. Construction is ongoing, and an opening timeline has not been revealed yet.
Kumar and Siler are behind the Mediterranean concept Ajja in Raleigh. Kumar is a James Beard Foundation-recognized chef, and Paul is behind the design for Ajja. Ajja opened in 2023 and serves items like lemon chicken tagine, lamb seekh and mezze platters.
Salamanca and Davis recently opened Latin American restaurant Mala Pata, which made the leap from pop-up to brick-and-mortar this year, alongside a couple other partners. Mala Pata serves items like fish tacos, enchiladas, macha wings and tuna tartacos.
Pasfield is one of the minds behind Locals Seafood, which focuses on serving high-quality North Carolina seafood and has a restaurant at Durham Food Hall.
Attempts to reach Salamanca for more details on the upcoming concept were unsuccessful prior to the time of publication.
