Asheville’s Tupelo Honey is preparing to open a new location of Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar in Concord at Christenbury Parkway and Cox Mill Road.
Developer MPV Properties recently announced a handful of new tenants coming to Christenbury Village, including Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar, according to Charlotte Observer. The new 5,779-square-foot restaurant will have space for a patio, anchored by Winston-Salem-based grocer Lowes Foods. Construction on this project began earlier this year, with a projected opening set for Fall 2024.
When the new restaurant opens later next year, customers can expect a handful of Southern-inspired brunch, lunch, and dinner options, including honey-dusted bone-in fried chicken, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pimento cheese dip, and more. Tupelo Honey has grown to 22 stores in 14 states nationwide since opening in 2000, including an uptown Charlotte cafe. The company plans to expand to seven other locations throughout the country, including Columbia, SC, according to the company’s website.
Tupelo Honey will be joined by seven other tenants recently announced for the development, including Fleet Feet next to the restaurant. Other new tenants include Ultra Nail Bar, Cookie Co., Beem Light Sauna, Woof Gang Bakery and Grooming, Petfolk Veterinary Clinic, and Heartland Dental. In total, the 115,892-square-foot mixed-use retail center will have five buildings, including two five-story mixed-use buildings with plans for residential space.
