Umbrella Dry Bar owner Meg Paradise and business partner Charlie Blue Arm are bringing a new concept called Songbird to Raleigh, according to a recent LinkedIn post from Paradise. The concept is slated to open in June.
It will join East End Market at 1020 E. Whitaker Mill Road, Suite 130, in Raleigh, taking an 800-square-foot space, according to the Triangle Business Journal.
Songbird will be “a daylight-to-dusk bar structured around seasonality and the natural rhythm of a day,” according to the announcement. The menu will offer coffee and fresh juice early in the day and transition to cocktails and shareables later in the day. The spot will offer alcoholic, low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, aiming to offer an inclusive drink menu that offers something for everyone.
“Through building Umbrella Dry Bar over the past five years, I’ve had thousands of conversations about drinking,” Paradise wrote in the announcement. “One pattern became clear: most people don’t live in a single lane. They may order a cocktail one night, a non-alcoholic drink the next and coffee the following morning. Their choices shift with mood, season, health, work and life stage.”
Songbird is a pivot from Paradise’s fully non-alcoholic bar concept Umbrella Dry Bar, which shuttered its brick-and-mortar space in 2024. However, the brand continues as a bottle shop and event partner.
