Built on Hospitality, the group behind local spots like The Goodyear House and Folia, is slated to operate multiple food and beverage concepts at The Beckworth, the boutique hotel taking shape within the historic Johnston Building in Uptown Charlotte. The 240-room hotel at 212 South Tryon will feature a rooftop bar in addition to two on-site restaurants that will also fall under Built on Hospitality’s management.
Details regarding the rooftop bar and its menu remain unknown. However, the Charlotte Business Journal reported that Bob Peters, Built On Hospitality’s beverage director, will craft a cocktail program.
The hotel, which has been under development since late 2024, is expected to open in late 2026. In addition to its food and beverage offerings, The Beckworth will offer event space and meeting areas.
Chris Coleman, Sean Potter and A.J. Klenk are behind Built on Hospitality, which has been an active participant in Charlotte’s culinary scene. Its portfolio features The Goodyear House, Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails, Folia and Chief’s Modern Cocktail Parlor.
The transformation of The Beckworth has involved a historic adaptive reuse project to preserve historic elements of the 1924 office building. Both the exterior and some elements of the interior will be maintained.
