Wayback Burgers is planning a new franchise location at 2200 N. Main St. in High Point.

This will be the second location in the Triad area, joining a spot already open in Mebane.

First-time franchisee Trupal Shah is heading up the new location. He said the spot will open in spring 2025 — he predicts February or March.

The 1,500-square-foot space will have a modern feel, according to an announcement from Wayback Burgers. The interior will have glass windows into the kitchen to allow customers to watch food being prepared. Seating options will include booths, community tables and upholstered banquettes.

Shah said he was drawn to the Wayback Burger brand because of the quality of their food. He said they settled on a High Point location because it is a growing market, especially with High Point University in the area.

Wayback Burgers operates in 35 states with more than 170 locations. The fast-casual chain serves signature burgers, cheese fries, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and hand-dipped milkshakes.

There is also a location headed to Waxhaw next year.
