After nearly two years since its closure, Corkscrew is returning, landing a space in Huntersville at Holbrook Town Center at 111 Gilead Road.

The spot will be 1,800 square feet and will have a temperature-controlled wine cellar and wine lockers, and its design will have elements of the former Huntersville space while mixing in new elements to form a light, plant-based design, according to the Charlotte Business Journal. There will also be a patio with outdoor seating.

Corkscrew closed in Birkdale village after its lease was not renewed and instead focused on its Fort Mills location. However, they have been looking to return for a long time, Joseph Klosek, director of operations for Corkscrew Wine Bar, told the Business Journal.

“Our focus has always been here. We want to maintain a footprint and provide a neighborhood, locally owned establishment where folks feel comfortable to come and relax,” Klosek told the Business Journal.

Construction is expected to begin in January, with plans to potentially open the space in mid- to late 2025.
