After being closed for decades, Zepeddie’s Pizzeria is finally ready to come back in Charlotte’s Lower South End, located at 4516 Nations Crossing Rd.

The family-owned restaurant was open during the mid-90s and early 2000s before it was forced to close for several years. Now, 30 years after the Zepsa family opened the New York-style pizzeria, the family is looking to reopen in Spring 2024, according to the Charlotte Observer. Zepsa Construction is currently renovating the 2,000-square-foot space to help retain the charm of the original location that was at 200 E. Woodlawn Rd.

When Zepeddie’s Pizzeria opens later this year, customers can expect a variety of New York-style pizzas made with the company’s style thick crust, as well as calzones, stromboli, and subs. Some examples of their signature pizzas include The Bianco, made with white sauce, taleggio, pear, hot honey, arugula, and EVOO, and the “Big Gabagool” made with pepperoni, capicola, meatballs, mozzarella, and Parmesan.

“We are thrilled to bring Zepeddie’s back to Charlotte and to share our passion for authentic NY-style pizza with the community once again,” Brian Zepsa said in a statement.

The new Zepeddie’s Pizzeria will sit next to Lower Left Brewing Company near a busy Woodlawn Road. The Zepsa family will find great success with this reopening because it is a return of a fan-favorite and because of the limited competition nearby. This pizzeria will become the go-to pizza spot in the Lower South End, competing with Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, and Papa John’s Pizza.
