Ziggi’s Coffee, a Colorado-based chain with locations across the Midwest, is opening a new store in Spartanburg at 2600 E. Main St.

Franchise owner Tanner Berkey plans to open the first Carolina location in the upcoming yet-to-be-named food hall, opening in Spring 2024, according to the Post & Courier. The coffee shop will lease 2,000 square feet on the building’s left end. The entire building is 13,500 square feet, with about 7,000 square feet dedicated to the food hall, which Freedom Commercial Real Estate is developing in the former home of Le Baron Restaurant.

“My wife and I were both coffee lovers, but when we had our children, we saw a need to find a place that our children could also get stuff that wasn’t high-octane coffee,” Berkey tells the Post & Courier. “We wanted to be a little more community-driven where we could have a bigger impact and not just be competing head to head with ten other coffee shops. Ziggi’s is known for supporting schools and non-profits. We give back all the time, so the community will certainly feel our presence in a positive way.”

At the beginning of the year, Ziggi’s Coffee had 140 locations in various stages of development, with 30 set to open in 2023. With several business models, including a single-sided drive-thru model, a double-sided drive-thru model, and a café/drive-thru combination model, Ziggi’s saw unparalleled success this year in franchisee growth. The company recently announced its East Coast debut with a new site coming to Pennsylvania. The upcoming Spartanburg will be the first location in either of the Carolinas. When the new Ziggi’s Coffee opens, customers can expect coffee, specialty drinks, fruit smoothies, and breakfast bites.

“We are so excited to continue to bring Ziggi’s to communities across the country,” Justin Livingston, VP of Franchise Development at Ziggi’s Coffee, said earlier this year in a press release. “Our main focus has always been to provide our customers with great products and even better customer service, and we are so proud of the work our franchisees have put in to make this happen. We truly believe offering several business models to prospective franchisees allows us to ensure each franchisee is getting the perfect fit for their business goals, allowing them to set their location up for success from the very start. This careful attention to detail has been a major factor in our tremendous growth over the past few years.”
