Columbus is getting a fresh new sandwich spot with a story—and some serious culinary chops. Chef Justin Wotring, known for his work with A&R Creative concepts like The Crest and Mercury Diner, is launching his own gourmet sandwich shop: Caroline’s Sandwiches.
Inspired by classic French techniques but designed to be approachable and “on the go,” Caroline’s will feature bold sandwiches like braised pork with ramp hot sauce, a hearty meatball sub, cold cuts, and even a mushroom and mozzarella option for veggie lovers.
Named in honor of Wotring’s late niece, Caroline’s aims to blend comfort food with community roots. “This spot is about showing up for your neighborhood, feeding folks like they’re your own, and keeping things real,” Wotring said.
For now, you can catch Caroline’s as a pop-up inside Bears Bagels on select dates throughout the summer. But Wotring has his sights set on opening a permanent shop—likely in Hilliard, where he and his family have lived for the past decade.
Caroline’s isn’t just another sandwich shop—it’s a heartfelt local concept with plans to become a neighborhood staple.
